Public consultations concerning the draft of the new Law on Public Procurement

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia has launched public consultations concerning the draft of the new Law on Public Procurement (the new PPL) by publishing its draft and relevant documents and standard forms on its website. The draft of the new PPL was prepared by the working group established by the Ministry of Finance.

The purpose of the new PPL is to align the national legislation with the European Union law (the EU public procurement directives) and to increase the transparency, efficiency, flexibility and competitiveness of public procurement procedures.

The Project was involved from the very beginning in works on the draft by supporting the Public Procurement Office and the working group in elaboration of the draft by providing advice, opinions and comments concerning compliance of proposed provisions with the EU provisions as well as best practices of EU Member States. By publishing the draft of the new PPL, the Ministry of Finance invited the public to take part in the consultations of the draft which will last from 3  to 22 October 2018.

Within the public consultations three round – table meetings in Novi Sad, Belgrade and Niš are being organized in cooperation of the Ministry of Finance, the Public Procurement Office and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. They will take place on 8, 10 and 12 October 2018. The representative of the Project will also take part in those events.
