Support to the Working Party for the preparation of the first draft of the Public Procurement Law

Šabac, 14 September 2017 – The members of the working party for the first drafting of the Public Procurement Law and the members of the project team took the workshop in Šabac from 11 through 13 September this year. They presented their comments on the draft law.

The main goal of amending the Public Procurement Law is alignment with the EU directives pertaining to this area.

The new Public Procurement Law should contribute to greater affirmation of the most economically advantageous bid requirement, as well as increasing competition in public procurement procedures.

In addition, the new Public Procurement Law must contribute to more efficient identification of irregularities in public procurement, strengthening the control function, and combating violations of the Law in this area.

This workshop is just one of a series of planned activities within the project titled Support for Further Improvement of Public Procurement System in Serbia, which is implemented by the German international development cooperation organization GIZ in consortium with KPMG d.o.o. and KPMG Advisory S.p.A.
